While it is a thriller it is also a story of family - love, loss and especially the love between a father and son. It keeps you guessing and does not disappoint with twists and turns. Enjoy!! I did!!

Vogel has written an extremely timely thriller, based in South Florida, encapsulating corporate greed, Big Sugar, AI driven gene editing crossing over from agriculture to tinkering with human genetics and unintended consequences. What could possibly go wrong? The Ghost Writer has it all, deception, murder, intrigue, betrayal, dark voices and motivations, written in a cinematic style that will grab you and not let up, along with his sense of humor injected into tense situations. He took the wind up and the pitch, and knocked it out of the park!

Steven Vogel's book “The Ghost Writer” Is a wonderful blend of mystery, need and greed. Tightly woven, like an onion, it reveals itself layer by layer. Unexpected consequences, Flawed and dangerous characters. Some books you cannot put down. Vogel’s writing caused me to pause several times to absorb and integrate what had just happened Woah! Who are the good guys? Harrowing chases. Twists and turns. Whiplash. Fiction amplifying a very real, truth-based world.
Well deserving of your time.

I truly enjoyed this book, from the shocking first chapter, to the unexpected ending that still has me pondering about the many twists and turns along the way. For his debut thriller novel, Vogel hit this out of the ball-park (possible pun intended!). It's a fast-paced mystery thriller set in South Florida, the perfect backdrop for unveiling corporate corruption and it's resulting intrigue. The book has multiple woven story lines that keep you page-turning until the very end, including genetic science gone awry, which gave me pause with it's modern day relevance. There's great character development, mystery, intrigue, psychologic twists and a few shocks along the way. One aspect of the novel that is very unique and special, is an underlying thread of a beautiful father-son story with a love of good old American Baseball. I'm already anxious to reread this book to enjoy the ride again! Don't hesitate - add to your cart!
